About Us

For more than 150 years, Whiting’s Funeral Home has provided compassionate care and trusted funeral services in Williamsburg, VA. Our story began in 1868 with Henry Cooke, a free Black craftsman in Richmond who built his first casket for a grieving family. From those humble beginnings, generations of the Cooke and Stone families have carried forward a legacy of dignity, service, and community support.

Today, Whiting’s Funeral Home continues that tradition under the leadership of Pastor Christopher Stone. We are honored to guide families through burial, funeral, and cremation arrangements with compassion, respect, and a deep commitment to honoring every life.
